Earlier this week, The Pokémon Company tweeted out that a Pokémon Presents Direct was coming on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 6:00 a.m. PDT. For those not in the know, this means that they will be showcasing their latest products coming over the next year featuring several trailers.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is what Pokemon should have been

In 2017, Capcom released Monster Hunter Stories, a game that many overlooked due simply to the fact it was tied to the dying Nintendo 3DS in the Switch Era. It had its flaws, mostly due to a seemingly random combat system that punished players for not knowing very specific patterns, as well as the Monster customization options essentially being locked away until the end game. Let’s not even mention the terrible 3DS resolution. Despite this, Monster Hunter Stories was modern Capcom‘s respectable first stab at the Pokemon clone genre.

Fortunately, the lower than expected sales of this first entry didn’t doom the spin-off to oblivion. Some fine tuning of the combat mechanics, a slightly more matured story, a more palatable art direction, and some HD graphics slapped on to boot, and Capcom would have a Pokemon clone capable of generating decent sales. But they didn’t stop there…

Nintendo Exec: Metroid Prime 4 coming in 2018

Metroid Prime 4 and the new Pokemon RPG game are apparently coming in 2018, says Nintendo communications director Charlie Scibetta’s interview with Venture Beat. Why Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are on 3DS

Announced in the Pokémon Direct today, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are two new mainline entries into the storied Pokémon franchise. Taking place in the Alolan islands from the previous entries, Pokémon Sun and Moon, the new versions follow an alternate story on the islands. Pokemon Direct Announced for Tomorrow

In a surprising twist of events, Nintendo has revealed that they’re showing a Pokemon Direct right before E3.  Tomorrow, June 6th at 10 AM EST Nintendo will show a presentation lasting around eight minutes and featuring what they described as “Pokemon News.” That doesn’t really hint at what the contents of the direct will feature, but given the length it’s doubtful that it will contain more then one, possibly two major reveals. Top 5 Wii U games that need Switch ports

The Wii U was a clumsy machine with a poorly realized concept and sparse library. Nintendo’s ill conceived console only sold about 13 million units before it was put down to clear the way for the sleeker, sexier, and better selling Switch. While the library was small, the quality was top tier, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has shown Nintendo is not content with letting some of this generation’s best games fade to obscurity.
