Earlier this week, The Pokémon Company tweeted out that a Pokémon Presents Direct was coming on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 6:00 a.m. PDT. For those not in the know, this means that they will be showcasing their latest products coming over the next year featuring several trailers.
The last Pokémon Direct featured games including the remakes of the Gen IV DS titles, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Additionally, we saw footage of New Pokémon Snap and the upcoming Pokémon Legends Arceus RPG. While not featured in the most recent Direct, Pokémon Unite was recently released on Nintendo Switch and will come to PC and Mobile devices later this year.
As it stands, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and the Pokémon Legends Arceus title remain on nearly everyone’s minds. However, given the popularity of the series and its spin-offs, it’s anyone’s guess as to what new announcements we may receive. Considering New Pokémon Snap revived a 1999 IP from the Nintendo 64, we could get anything from Stadium to Conquest or something new entirely.
