Ubisoft isn’t going to have anything left to announce by the time E3 2017 arrives. Rumors have long been swirling about an Assassin’s Creed set in Egypt, and Game Informer has now confirmed the game, placing it on their next cover. The game will be set during the rise and reign of Cleopatra, and offers a departure from the Assassin’s Creed norm.
We won’t spoil all of the changes here, but if you’re interested in more, this forum post has recapped the huge list of changes brought about in the new release. Although, we don’t think it’s too much to say that, yes, you will be able to raid ancient Egyptian tombs. That’s what everyone has been wondering since the Egypt setting started making the rounds, yeah?
Assassin’s Creed Origins is set to release on October 27, 2017, for PS4, XB1, and PC. There’s currently no mention of Switch if that’s what you were hoping for, but it will be optimized for Scorpio.
