Microsoft Offers Refunds on CoD: Infinite War

One would think that when designing a multiplayer game for a AAA audience that the most important thing to focus on would be, say, the multiplayer funtionality. One would think that, but apparently Activision came to a different conclusion when developing Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The latest in it’s insanely long line of first person shooters about white america going to war with just about every brown person under the sun for increasingly dodgy and unrealistic reasons.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Pay-to-Win Microtransactions

There are few features of modern gaming more reviled by gamers than microtransactions. But as they have become more common place, a large part of the gaming community has softened their stance to accept cosmetic purchases that don’t affect the overall balance of the game. In fact, this method (as seen with Blizzard’s Overwatch) is used to help fund the continued development of the game with the release of new heroes and maps that are periodically released without any additional charge.
