During an Interview with Eurogamer, Uncharted: Lost Legacy creative director and writer Shaun Escayg confirmed that while the story of Nathan Drake is over, the world of Uncharted may well continue.
Escayg also highlighted that they had tested stories for different characters in Uncharted’s thieving circles, including Sully and Cutter before eventually settling down on Chloe for Lost Legacy’s story. He teased that those characters’ stories and ideas that they considered could eventually come to fruition, although no real clarification was made.
Also in the interview, Escayg was asked to discuss the common trend among the video game industry at the moment – Open Worlds. Escayg’s response was that while they are testing open world concepts, it isn’t as clear as the next Uncharted game being open world, with Lost Legacy including another open world section of gameplay comparative to Uncharted 4’s Madagascar location.
You can catch the full interview on Eurogamer, including an update on team focus with The Last Of Us Part 2 and the nature of Lost Legacy and why it doesn’t have a number in it’s title.
