E3 2017: Ubisoft shows more Far Cry 5

Ubisoft impressed with some cool looking gameplay from Far Cry 5. We got a peak at Falls End, a small town in Hope County that has been overrun by the fanatic cultist antagonists you fight against in game.

The first thing we see is a victim impaled by a spiked cross, leaning up against a smoking tractor with SINNER spray painted across the side. The trailer shows off the for-hire system at play with “guns for hire,” “fangs for hire,” and “friends for hire.”

We got a look at the gun for hire, Grace Armstrong, who the player sends up into a water tower to cover him. The fangs, Boomer, can run out and tag enemies for the player. “The town looks like a warzone,” Grace says, which is true, but Falls End also looks like a lot of fun to play in, with lots of different areas of cover, high and low ground, and a bunch of enemies.

In the preview footage, the player planned out their attack while the main enemy ranted on about the people they are holding hostage needing to atone.  Once everything was in place, all hell broke loose. Grace laid down cover as the player went in. Boomer attacked enemies and stole their guns, fetching them back to the player. Nick Rye came in his plane as “Death From Above,” and rained fire down on enemies out in the open. The trailer also shows off co-op mode, as “friends for hire.”

If this game ends up being as chaotic and insane as this trailer looks, we’re in for a real treat when Far Cry 5 releases on February 27th, 2018.
