Schedule of Events for E3 Coliseum Announced

Earlier today, Geoff Keighley, creator and producer of The Game Awards, announced the lineup for the E3 Colisuem, “a spectacular main stage event that will connect video game fans with the biggest names in entertainment.” The event will feature two days full of demos, panel discussions, and epic one-on-one interviews.

The first day starts off with Cory Balrog, director of the newest God of War, and his team as they discuss the production of the game from writing to combat design. Next, WWE Superstar Big Show sits down with Bungie CEO Pete Parsons to discuss the gaming industry and Destiny 2.  Then, in an interesting panel discussion, Chris Hardwick talks with Neil Degrasse Tyson, James Gunn, Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford, and 343 Industries’ Kiki Wolfkill, in a conversation on world building across mediums of entertainment.

Viewers over the rest of the day will see a presentations on upcoming games by Ubisoft, Bethesda, Square Enix, and Epic Games, as well as a look at Xbox’s newest developments in Project Scorpio. To wrap up Day 1, Jack Black joins Tim Schafer of Double Fine (Psychonauts, Broken Age, Grim Fandango Remastered) in discussing Schafer’s career and of course the much-anticipated sequel to Psychonauts.

Day 2 kicks off with The Foo Show’s Will Smith in a conversation about the future of VR and AR gaming. Smith will be joined Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, The Void’s Curtis Hickman, Squanchtendo Games co-founder Tanja Watson, Skydance Media CEO David Ellison, and Stress Level Zero Games’ Brandon J. Laatsch. Later in the day is a special Crash Bandicoot reunion panel, as members of the original team talk about the making of the first game, its impact on the industry, and the upcoming remastered version.

Also featured on Day 2 is a celebration of 25 years of Mortal Kombat, a first look at Far Cry 5, and a look at the development of Call of Duty WWII. Then, in one of the event’s highlights, there will be a one-on-one with Hideo Kojima: Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Director of Kong: Skull Island) will talk to Kojima about his career and “the fusion of gaming and cinema.”

The event wraps up with “an exclusive surprise discussion with renowned figures.”

Keighley said of the event on his twitter: “All the developers/publishers on stage at #E3COLISEUM believe the game industry is stronger when we come together to celebrate the medium… When we put competition aside and connect with fans across all platforms who love to play games.”

]The E3 Coliseum is open to all E3 badge holders and starts at 7 am PT. on June 13th, at The Nova in L.A. The event will also be streamed on Facebook, Twitch, Mixer, and Youtube.
